My Cat!

This is Miss Kevyn! She's a 1 and a half year old short haired calico!

I found Kevyn on July 17th 2021. Our local county fair was going on in town just a block away from where I live. My dad was out on the porch when he called me outside, he could hear a cat meowing but couldn't find where it was since he was unable to walk down the steps at the time since he'd just had foot surgery a while before this. Sure enough in the street right in front of our house was the tiniest kitten I'd ever seen. She was dirty, had ear mites and sick goopy eyes. It was extremely hot out that day, when I ran out to pick her up the blacktop was hot enough to scorch my feet, I can't image how it must've felt for her. I brought her inside, with the intentions to just keep her safe for a day or two till we could take her to the humane society. That obviously didn't end up happening. We don't know where she came from but we assume that someone had dumped her there. Just because of the events going on in town and because we've never really had strays in the area before besides one old tom cat.

Kevyn is a big snuggler, ever since we brought her in she has always liked sitting on my chest and trying to curl herself as close to my neck as possible. She doesn't like when theres a lot of company over and hides when people are visiting though eventually she does warm up to people. I worry used about her sometimes because some days she would not drink out of her water bowl. But she will drink from the shower faucet. She'll sit in the bathtub and wait for someone to turn the water on for her. I got her one of those kitty water fountains and she was scared of it the first couple of days but now drinks out of it fine! Otherwise shes a perfectly healthy and lovely cat and my cuddly baby.
